Long QuarryThis is Long Quarry, taken from Anstey's Cove. Those are not natural rock formations, but the result of the stone being removed. The limestone was used as a building material, but it was also burned in kilns to produce quicklime, which was widely used as a fertilizer. The stone was loaded onto boats and transported to various places along the coast.
